BREAKING: Osun rerun: Cancel election, declare me winner now – Adeleke cries to INEC

Senator Ademola Adeleke, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the governorship election in Osun State has told the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to declare him winner of the election now.
Adeleke accused INEC of working with security agents to announce the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC Gboyega Oyetola winner.
Adeleke, who spoke with reporters in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, cited irregularities, malpractices and constitutional breaches in the ongoing re-run.
His words, “This is not a free and fair election. Osun state is under siege; we are at war in Osun. They didn’t allow my party to vote.
“It’s only APC people they allowed to vote. INEC and security agents have compromised. So, there is no election in Osun today.

Osun guber: PDP cries out to Buhari as EFCC freezes Sen Isiaka Adeleke, Davido’s bank accounts

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Saturday confirmed reports that the bank accounts of its governorship aspirant in the upcoming Osun State election, Isiaka Adeleke and that of his family have been frozen by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

PDP consequently charged President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the anti-graft agency to immediately unfreeze the private account of Adeleke, and those of his family members, including music star, David Adeleke (Davido).

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Kola Ogbondiyan, PDP decried the “freezing of the accounts as oppressive, tyrannical, provocative and a direct recipe for crisis in the state, given that the people of Osun are solidly behind Adeleke ahead of the election.”

The statement reads, “In addition, the PDP directs its members, including state governors, officials at zonal and state chapters, national and states assembly
members, all presidential and governorship aspirants as well as other stakeholders, particularly, in the southwest zone, to immediately commence movement into Osun state with their political machinery to campaign and support the PDP candidate.”
The party, however, said the “freezing of the Adelekes’ accounts by an agency of the All Progressives. Congress (APC)-led Federal Government, a week to the governorship election, underscores the fact that APC is mortally afraid of our candidate and has been seeking ways to undermine his electoral fortunes.

“Such savage attack on innocent citizens confirms the viciousness of the Buhari-led APC administration to use any means whatsoever to subjugate
Nigerians and appropriate power to itself at all cost.

“Does it not smack of political brutality that President Buhari approved the secret release of N16.6 billion to Osun APC to pay thugs to manhandle voters and rig the election, while his EFCC is unleashed to
freeze the legitimate account of our candidate and his family not minding the collateral damage such would have on millions that benefit
from the goodwill of the family?

“What President Buhari and his APC do not understand is that theirs is a den of thieves and that the leaders of the APC are frittering the N16 billion away.
“Moreover, the people of Osun state are completely behind Senator Adeleke and will freely vote for him irrespective of the machinations of the Buhari-led APC.

“The PDP therefore calls on the people of Osun state to collectively condemn this wickedness meted out on their son and members of his family and ensure that they use their votes to make a resounding statement against the APC by voting enmasse for their beloved son, come September 22, 2018. Enough is enough!”

2019: Tinubu speaks on Ambode’s second term bid

Oluremi Tinubu, wife of national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, appears to have put to rest the speculation that the Tinubu political dynasty was against the reelection bid of governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state.
Mrs. Tinubu, who currently represents Lagos Central district in the Senate, yesterday assured the governor that his next term in office would be greater than his first.
This assurance came following reports that Ambode was no longer in the good books of Tinubu, which political watchers said might cost him his second term as governor as the national leader of APC had reportedly found an alternative to Ambode in the 2019 governorship election.
President Muhammadu Buhari, Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi; and Oba of Lagos , Rilwan Akiolu, were said to have embarked on a last-minute move to save Ambode.
However, speaking yesterday after a meeting in Lagos between the governor and the three senators representing the state in the National Assembly, Mrs Tinubu said: “Your excellency, my distinguished colleagues, I believe the leader of our delegation has spoken our minds.
“In addition to what he has said, we are proud of the work you have done and we are proud to identify with you. We can only wish divine health for you together with the first lady.
“As you continue to steer the ship of our noble state, you have done well. We see testimonies of how you really want to improve the lot of the common man. This is no where you will not find development. For those who say ‘Oh, development hasn’t come to us’ I say be patient.
“I want to congratulate you and pray that your next term in office will be greater than your first.”

England v Spain: What De Gea told Luis Enrique about Welbeck’s disallowed goal

England v Spain: What De Gea told Luis Enrique about Welbeck’s disallowed goal

Spain coach, Luis Enrique has revealed what his goalkeeper, David De Gea told him about England star, Danny Welbeck’s disallowed goal in Spain’s victory over the Three Lions at Wembley on Saturday.

He said De Gea told him that he was fouled for Welbeck’s disallowed effort.
Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford had put the home side in front after just 11 minutes but goals from Saul and Rodrigo before half-time sealed the win for Luis Enrique’s side.

The Three Lions came close to equalising in injury time after De Dea dropped the ball on Welbeck before the Arsenal forward finished from close range.
But referee Danny Makkelie ruled out the goal and awarded Spain a free-kick for a foul on De Dea.

When asked what he thought about the referee decision after the game, Enrique told Sky Sports “I couldn’t see, it was difficult, David De Gea told me he was fouled.

“When you think about the whole match, we deserved to win.”
The former Barcelona boss also defended the Manchester United goalkeeper after he was criticised for his performances at the World Cup and claims the goalkeeper is the best in the world. “I’ve never had any doubts with De Gea,’ said the Spain boss.
“He may have mistakes like everybody else, but we have one of the best in the world.

“I’m very calm about him, he’s a top level player, something he has shown in this game and throughout his years in England.
“Going by numbers and performances, he is world’s number one.”

Six Parts Of Your Body You Are Most Likely Not Washing Well Enough

Six Parts Of Your Body You Are Most Likely Not Washing Well Enough

It’s not enough to rub that bar of soap across your body as you have to do a whole better if your intention is to keep your body sparkling clean. These are the parts that you should be lathering up regularly to keep them clean, fresh, and free of potentially harmful bacteria.
Behind Your Ears
The warm and recessed area of your ears is full of sebaceous glands which secrete sebum that provides an ideal hiding place for Staph aureus and Tinea capitis. If not cleaned daily, may start to produce a musty odor.
Belly Button
Belly buttons are warm, with nooks and crevices, which make them a great place for bacteria to hide. Swab your belly button daily with a cotton swab soaked in warm, soapy water or alcohol.
If you have a pierced belly button, it’s even more important to wash it regularly to prevent infections.
Tongue
A lot of the time, people only think of their teeth and gums when talking about dental hygiene and do not provide enough attention to the tongue, or they think that by using mouthwash, they can get it clean enough.
However, the tongue has lots of little ridges and bumps that can hide bacteria, resulting in bad breath and even tooth damage if not cleaned regularly.
Brush your tongue with your toothbrush while you are brushing your teeth or use a tongue scraper.
Scalp
While you may wash your hair regularly, how much attention are you paying to your scalp? While it’s not necessary to wash your hair daily, it is important to scrub and massage your scalp daily to avoid buildup of dead skin cells, that body mites and bacteria feast on.
Massaging your scalp daily with warm water not only increases blood flow but helps to manually remove the dead cells which can lead to dandruff
Your Back
Although your back gets wet while you’re standing in the shower, it needs to get much mor attention. You can buy a back scrubber or have your partner wash it for you with an exfoliating bath sponge, loofah, or washcloth at least two to three times a week to reduce the risk of developing skin and soft-tissue infections.
Under Your Fingernails
While you most likely wash your hands after using the restroom, but if you’re not scrubbing under your nails, you’re only doing half the job.
Faecal bacteria can set up shop and colonize in the area under your nails, and it is best to soak a cotton swab with warm, soapy water and swabbing it under your nails to gently remove bacteria and debris. Keeping nails short can also help prevent bacteria from thriving.

7 Mistakes Newly Married Couples Should Avoid

7 Mistakes Newly Married Couples Should Avoid

The day you get married is the happiest day of your life. It’s the day you have spent the last few years dreaming about, and everything  must go smoothly and perfectly just like you have dreamed it would. It is the day you will be gazing lovingly into the eyes of the love of your life while your heart is beating faster than it should. It is nothing short of bliss. Both of you are happy to have found each other.

But hard work lies ahead of you both to sustain your relationship. The thing is that marriage doesn’t come gift-wrapped. It  comes in kit form, which means that you and your partner have to work at things. And you will find out as the years roll by that in a marriage, there are often just as many lows as there are highs.

As much as couples would rather keep their marriage drama-free, the reality is that this is just not always possible.

However, there are several common mistakes married couples make which ensure that their marriage gets off to a bad start. The good news is that these pitfalls can easily be avoided.

Get your marriage off to an awesome start by avoiding these 10 mistakes:

Focusing on the wrong things

They say that there is no truer saying than life is what you make of it. But what does this phrase actually mean? It means different things to different people. If you focus on the bad stuff in life, your life will be negative. If you focus on the good stuff, your life will be much more positive. It sounds so simple. Yet so many newly wed couples fall into the trap of getting annoyed by their partners’ failings. But instead of focusing on his penchant for lying in on a Sunday morning until noon or having a few beers after work when we want him home, why not focus on his good qualities a bit more?

Neglecting kind gestures

When you were dating, you both couldn’t stop showering each other with kindness. Don’t stop being kind to your partner because you have married them.

Insisting that you are always right

This is a big mistake that many couples make, and sometimes they prefer to be right than in love. Unfortunately, too many spouses are so insistent on being right that they compromise their marriage. A relationship is so much more than being right. Accept that mistakes happen. Accept that sometimes it’s okay not to be right – even if you are.

Getting too comfortable

Being comfortable with one another is perfect. But getting so comfortable that you stop putting in effort to make your relationship work is a bad thing. Once you stop putting the effort into your relationship now that you are married, the fizz disappears. The excitement goes. Don’t get too comfortable. Keep things edgy and spontaneous.

Failing to talk about money matters

Your money is no longer just yours. You can no longer take a cavalier attitude to savings and spending. You must talk about your budget with your partner as soon as you guys tie the knot. Arguments about money are the most explosive types.

Refusing to give your partner their space

If you adopt a “we’re married now therefore you’re mine and you have to spend all your time with me” attitude you’re going to kill your marriage before it’s even started. Sure, you now belong to one another. You share wedding rings, houses and maybe even bank accounts. But it doesn’t mean you have to do absolutely everything together. It’s important that you still give your partner some space. Let air into the relationship by doing things independent of one another.

Expecting them to be just like you

We all take to marriage differently. Marriage is a big step in anyone’s life, and although you two are taking the step together, it doesn’t mean you’re going to think and act in exactly the same way. Look, there will be disagreements about how to do things. Their habits and expectations of marriage will probably vary to yours. Don’t expect everything to be absolutely perfect and harmonious. If you do, you will
only find it dif

Ronaldo, Salah, Modric top FIFA award shortlist.

Ronaldo, Salah, Modric top FIFA award shortlist.

Cristiano Ronaldo vies with Mohamed Salah during the last UEFA Chmapions League match
Lionel Messi was left off the shortlist for the FIFA’s men’s player of the year award yesterday as his old rival Cristiano Ronaldo was named alongside Luka Modric and Mohamed Salah.

Messi has dominated the award along with Ronaldo over the past decade, but the Barcelona star has been omitted from the list of contenders after featuring in the top three for 11 straight years.

The 31-year-old Argentine was runner-up for the prestigious prize in 2007 and 2008 before winning it for the first of five successive years in 2009.

Messi and Ronaldo, the world’s two best players, have been engaged in a fascinating duel for the sport’s top individual and club honours for over a decade.

Now Messi’s absence from the shortlist opens the way for Ronaldo, also a five-time winner of the award, to move ahead in their personal battle.

Portugal forward Ronaldo lifted a fourth Champions League title in five years in May before joining Italian champions Juventus in July.

The 33-year-old won the player of the year crown in 2008, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017.

Joining Ronaldo on the shortlist is his former Real teammate Modric, who enjoyed a superb season for club and country.

As well as his influential displays in Real’s Champions League triumph, the Croatia midfielder was the key man for his country as they reached their first World Cup final, finishing as runners-up to France.

Liverpool and Egypt forward Salah has also impeccable credentials as a potential winner of the award.

Salah enjoyed a record-breaking first season with Liverpool as his goals propelled Jurgen Klopp’s side to the Champions League final and set a host of individual club landmarks.

France’s World Cup-winning manager Didier Deschamps, Zlatko Dalic and Zinedine Zidane were nominated as the finalists for Fifa’s coach of the year award.

Deschamps became just the third man to win the World Cup as a player and coach with victory over Dalic’s Croatia in Russia while Zidane led Real Madrid to a third consecutive Champions League win in May before suddenly stepping down.

The best goalkeeper prize is to be contested by Tottenham and France’s Hugo Lloris, Denmark and Leicester’s Kasper Schmeichel and Belgium and Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

The 10 nominees for the Puskas Award for best goal include Real forward Gareth Bale’s stunning overhead kick in the Champions League final against Liverpool and Ronaldo’s superb bicycle kick against Juventus, scored while he was still with Real.

Norway and Lyon’s Ada Hegerberg, Dzsenifer Marozsan of Germany and Lyon, and five-time winner Marta, of Brazil and Orlando Pride, have been shortlisted for the women’s prize.
