Barely 24 hours after police invited Saraki over Offa robbery, Osinbajo in crucial meeting with IGP, others
The vice president Yemi Osinbajo on Monday, June 4, went into a crucial meeting with top officials of the administration.Premium Times reports that those in the meeting include the inspector general of police, Ibrahim Idris; the director general of the state security service Lawal Daura; and the attorney general of the federation Abubakar Malami.
It was learnt that a reliable source in the vice president’s office said the primary agenda for the meeting was Senate president Bukola Saraki.
The police publicly summoned Saraki on Sunday, June 3, after he was allegedly named by five robbery suspects as their sponsor.
It was said that Idris met with President Buhari on Friday, June 1, to seek the president’s backing for possible arrest of Saraki.
Meanwhile, it was reported that Saraki were invited by the police over the deadly robbery that took place at Offa in Kwara state.
The Senate president was invited to answer to allegations surrounding his links to the armed robbers behind the deadly robbery in April.
Jimoh Moshood, the force public relations officer disclosed this in Abuja on Sunday, June 3, while parading 22 suspects in custody for the robbery.
